This is what we do.

Inghram’s Sit ‘N Stay Dog Academy offers free evaluation and consultation. Clarke Inghram believes all dogs and dog owners should seek professional training. A well-trained pet reduces issues, and reduces the likelihood a dog will be destroyed. IDA evaluates dogs based on routine basic obedience: “Sit,” “Stay,” “Heel,” and “Come.” Then we will consult with you to make suggestions and recommendations.

Basic Obedience Course:
Your dog is taught to heel, sit, lie down, come, and stay by both voice and hand command using a leash. Also, they understand the meaning of the word “no” as well as “leave it”.

Advanced Obedience:
This course expounds on the previous course, plus “off-leash” commands. Commands are expanded to include off, wait, back up, and make friends. They are trained on our specially designed “confidence course” as well.

Phase One:
The dog is assessed for habitual behavior, good and bad. A reeducation process begins at the facility where the dog is kept for a short period of time to make the necessary adjustments to their behavior. While your dog is being worked with, you will work one on one with our trainers to learn the skills necessary to properly handle your dog. You will also attend our group classes to help reinforce dog handling skills. All family members are trained in the proper technique of the following: Leash technique, commands and hand signals, corrections and discipline, playtime, and canine pack behavior.

Phase Two:
During this phase an expansion of techniques learned in phase one will take place. A retraining and education process of owners then takes place. Family member will work once a week with a trainer in a one on one session with their dog. Group classes will also take place helping to reinforce your skills with our trainers at hand to answer any questions and help refine techniques. Group classes are offered multiple times during the week as well as on the weekends.
